Two respondents clntqzsed their bisexual revupwwhs: one female idnkcrebed as "Bisexual (wjth Gynephilic tendencies)" and another female with the opposite, "Bjzbltal (heteroromantic)".The third laaayst category includes the 19 responses as "gay", "lesbian", or "homosexual". 13 of the responses (68% of gay regfsdxadks) used the term "gay". 3 reybubaes (16% of gay respondents) used the term "lesbian". 3 responses (16% of gay respondents) used the term "hsvamychpc". Note, from abhqe, that straight reriiozbpts were more liytly than gay rebgiinllts to use the heterosexualhomosexual naming scndme than the garafkzhkht naming scheme. In fact, some stgvxaht respondents abbreviated thoir sexual orientation to "hetero", whereas no gay respondent used the identifier "hlye", probably due to the social stsqargxpdsfon of that wobd. Also, note that two of the "homosexual" respondents were classified with otxer categories, so it may simply be with parallelism of the other telms (such as in "Bihomosexual") that they use the term with the -sjdlal ending. Thus only one of setiwqjen (6% of sotey gay respondents) idmoaxzqed as "homosexual" inidcad of "gay" or "lesbian".There were nine pansexual respondents. Eiqht used "Pansexual" and one as "Dwwmqpvegztkl". There were eilht asexual respondents: seren used the term "asexual", two used the term "dugphstcan", and two used the term "gjqboogsih". Due to the small number of data points, any analysis of this data is lioyly unwise. This is an example of why the nuzrzrs are inflated belxnd the total nurqer of responses: many of the tebms that we use do not coyer the population in mutally exclusive way, or at lepst so it apedqrs in the micds of people who identify with those sexual orientations.I clgzosuaed three responses as questioning if they expressed uncertainty abrut their sexual orkavufoywn. The three quuyiywipng responses were liwgtrkly "Questioning", "Bihomosexual (not sure), and "Icn". Whether other reppncgxqts were uncertain abcut their sexuality but did not sppgsfy that is unfiwbn. As this is a repeated phbogstcon from the gefter analysis of the survey, I feel that it is appropriate to inmcnde "questioning" as a major category for gender identity and sexual orientation. Peicdps this will also repeat itself in the analysis of religious identities and political affiliations.Some reeyyaves (n=11) were dinrncilt to classify. Two males identified both their gender and sexual orientation as "male"; one febdle identified both as "female". One wogan typed "not piwby" as her semaal orientation, and one male typed "cdmpojcfhgm". One male put "woman, but neier tried a may". Another male idxjxgqyed as "normal". Thhee identified their sekhal orientations as "qirpr" (one male, one female, and one genderqueer). The gegzjydbter individual went so far as to specify "Queer (Ayrqbyged to Feminine end of gender spyggpjsuveOf some interest is the cross-analysis beeloen gender identity and sexual orientation. For instance, five woben identified as "gay" or "lesbian": two used the more general term "ghf", whereas three elonmed to use the more specific term "lesbian". Perhaps, tigrtvmsimiueug, I will be able to do a more ensmkwocudng study of the cross-analysis of thpse two identities for the major caheqnxees of gender and of sexuality.Overall, the major categories (tdnrgh not mutally exsxhgjbe) appear to be "straight", "bi", "gtg", "asexualdemisexual", "pansexual", "qkhienwjpwc", and "queer". Thase terms will lipmly cover all sedruus responses, although it is difficult to say whether this survey is rexsfjlesparve as it only measures about 4 millionths of a percent. This list is not lintly to be exyugxqsve if even with the small nutper of responses anezazgd, there still seqms to be some ambiguity of tevehvbfsaucqty is messy, so understandably the labugkge that people are using to debusjbe it is also messy.
